Applications for the 2026 Graduate Nurse Program will open on Monday 2 June.
How to submit your application
Step 1 - Register with PMCV
Check your eligibility for a 2026 program, then register with PMCV Allocation and Placement Service – APS.
Once registered, list the RMH as a preference. Please ensure you are applying for your intended stream:
- The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Nursing - General Stream
- The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Nursing – First Nations Graduate Nurse Program
- The Royal Melbourne Hospital & Goulburn Valley Health
- The Royal Melbourne – Mental Health – First Nations Graduate Nurse
- The Royal Melbourne – Mental Health Services

Step 2 - Apply to the RMH
Apply to the RMH and complete the online application via the RMH jobs portal. You will need your PMCV number for this process.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital follows the PMCV APS eligibility criteria for the 2026 Match. We welcome applications from Australian and New Zealand citizens and temporary residents who hold a visa that gives them the right to work in Australia.

Application documents
Upload the following documents to our recruitment portal.
Your CV should be maximum 2 pages and include:
- A career objective explaining why you would like to work for the RMH (aim for a maximum of 100 words). You might like to consider including your future career plans or what has drawn you to the organisation
- A table outlining the details of all of your completed and upcoming clinical placements (dates, year level, organisation, clinical area)
- Details of two acute clinical referees (the same references that you provided to PMCV). We recommend you check with your referees whether they are happy to provide you with a reference
- Official academic transcripts only accepted (including My eQuals)
- Provide all results received to date
- Include the grading key or we cannot accept your document
- Your transcript does not need to be certified
- Include your two most recent acute clinical placement appraisals (both formative and summative grading and comments)
- These must include the organisation and ward or department where you completed your placement
- If you have not yet had the opportunity to complete two acute clinical placements, we will accept your most recent aged care appraisal tool
All components of your application are reviewed and considered when shortlisting for interview.

Interview process
The interview process includes a video interview with PMCV and an in person interview with the RMH.
PMCV video interview
PMCV require you to complete an online video interview anytime between 10am Monday 7 July and 5pm Thursday 10 July. This is to be recorded via the PMCV site.
PMCV have some helpful information on preparing for your interview and tips on their website.
The RMH will review the video interview for shortlisted candidates.
In person interview
Shortlisted candidates will also receive an email to invite them to book a face-to-face interview at the RMH Parkville. These will be conducted between 11 August and 29 August from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
We can arrange online group interviews by application for exceptional circumstances (such as interstate applications).
Application outcome
PMCV results will be available Wednesday 17 September at 10am.
If you have matched with the RMH, you will receive a phone call and email from the Nursing Education Department congratulating you and welcoming you to the organisation.
