At the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we are committed to transparent, merit-based hiring practices for both clinical and non-clinical roles. All job opportunities are advertised and managed through our official careers portals.
Fake job advertisements and employment scams
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is aware of false job advertisements and employment contracts that claim to represent our health service. These fake job listings may ask for personal information, upfront payments, or promise unrealistic job offers.
All our jobs are advertised through our official jobs portal.
If you encounter a job or employment scam, please report it to Scamwatch and within the app on which you were contacted, even if you haven’t lost money.
Our recruitment and interview process
All roles at the RMH go through the same recruitment process.
Application
Apply for a role through the RMH jobs portal.
We only post job openings to this official portal, and occasionally to trusted job platforms such as SEEK, or our official social media channels listed in the footer of our website.
Interview
If you are shortlisted as a candidate of interest, you will either be:
- contacted by phone to schedule in an in-person or Microsoft Teams interview, or
- emailed a Sparke Hire from us via info@sparkehire.com to complete a recorded video interview
After your initial interview or video recording, you may then have a second interview. These interviews will always be in person or through Microsoft Teams.
We will not ask you for sensitive information or identification documents during the interview stage.
Letter of offer and onboarding
If you are the successful candidate, you will be verbally offered the position.
You will then receive the following:
- An email via Docusign with your new contract to sign
- An email from successfactors.system@careers.thermh.org.au to begin your onboarding in SuccessFactors
SuccessFactors is where you will upload all of your personal and sensitive information, including your:
- identification documents
- bank details for payroll
- tax file number (TFN) declaration form
- immunisation history
- police checks
Your new manager will be in consistent contact with you until your start date.
Your personal information
We will never ask you to send any sensitive information or identity documentation via email. This is all done through SuccessFactors.
If any of your onboarding documents are missing, a member of our Recruitment Team will contact you directly either from their staff email address ending in @mh.org.au, or one of our team email addresses:
If you are a visa holder, we will use your passport to run a VEVO check to make sure you have valid working rights.
