Text on screen: Together, we are redesigning world-class care
On screen: Professor Shelley Dolan (she/her) | Chief Executive
Shelley: At the Royal Melbourne Hospital we are redesigning world-class care.
Health care is never static. We're always looking at ways across the world - with each other, collaborating - to improve things for patients, for their families and indeed for our healthcare workers.
Text on screen: Together, we are leading research excellence for clinical impact
Shelley: We're always embracing the new science, the new research and evolving new models of care.
On screen: Associate Professor Michael Christie (he/him) | Head of Molecular Genetics, Pathology, Chief Medical Officer, Colonial Foundation Diagnostics Centre
Michael: You get to see what begins as basic science and translate it into a certain technology, and then that comes into the hospital and you actually get to see it helping patients.
This is how medicine advances and moves forward, is by bringing new things into practise.
On screen: Professor Kwang Lim (he/him) | Clinical Director, Aged Care, Medical Director, Home First, Ambulatory and Complex Care Services
Kwang: We're at the cutting edge of trying to reinvent the way the health system works by rolling out new services, new ways of caring for people.
On screen: Dr Emma Tumilty (she/her) | Bioethicist, First Nations Health Unit
Emma: As a health system, our job is to use all the skills and resources that we have to provide equitable care to people, for everybody to have the chance to have a good outcome and flourish in life.
On screen: Mai Vu (she/her) | Project Manager, Clinical Operations
Mai: We always need to consider what we're doing within that whole ecosystem.
We're changing, the way that our patients, consumers are accessing healthcare is changing so we want to make sure every new project that we roll out, we're considering every piece of that puzzle.
On screen: Kyle Piscopo (he/him) | Senior Clinical Psychologist and Team Leader, Inner Melbourne Community Team
Kyle: By Royal Melbourne Hospital committing to change it tells me that it's not enough just to keep doing what we've been doing.
We want to grow, we want to build, we want to bring in new perspectives, new experiences.
On screen: Sarah Aranha (she/her) | Director Access and Patient Flow
Sarah: We were the first ones in Victoria to have a Digital Coordination Centre in a hospital.
For us, it's all about how we use the information we have and translate that into actions and we're super proud of the impact it's having on patient flow and outcomes.
Kwang: Taking into account sustainability, that all goes towards providing excellent healthcare in a way that will continue for a long time.
Text on screen: Together, we are thriving through inspiration and curiosity
Shelley: At the Royal Melbourne Hospital, it is different every day. And the thing that is so special about it is that we have over 12,000 people and they are all extraordinary and they're all leaning in to do the best we can for our community.
On screen: Natalie Morgan (she/her) | People Services Manager, People Culture and Communications
Natalie: A thriving workforce for me is one that's always wanting to do better.
One that you feel safe to speak up and say, ‘Hey, I know we've been doing it this way for a long time, but I think we can do something different’.
People want to progress in their careers, so making sure that we enable that.
Shelley: Today we are delivering exceptional health care, but now we're looking forward to tomorrow.
We strive to redesign world class care, thrive through inspiration and curiosity, and lead research excellence for clinical impact, all with the aim of advancing health for everyone, every day, together.
