We provide treatment, care and support for people living with cognitive disorders and dementia.

Epilepsy Assessment Clinic RMH Service

We review patients for all aspects of epilepsy care, including epilepsy diagnosis and determination of epilepsy syndrome, anti-epileptic medication treatment and management of drug-resistant epilepsy.

First Seizure Clinic RMH Service

The clinic reviews patients referred for evaluation of a first seizure or a subsequent epileptic seizure in those without a previous diagnosis of epilepsy.

General Neurology and Rapid Access Clinic RMH Service

There are three general neurology clinics and one Neurology Rapid Access Clinic (NRAC) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Neuromuscular Clinic RMH Service

We provide care for patients with a broad range of neuromuscular conditions including genetic and acquired neuropathies, myopathies or muscular dystrophies, myaesthenic syndromes and motor neuron diseases.

Neuro-ophthalmology Clinic RMH Service

Neuro-ophthalmology combines neurology and ophthalmology to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of complicated vision disorders or problems related to the brain, optic nerve and eye muscles.

Transient Ischaemic Attack Rapid Access Clinic RMH Service

The clinic reviews patients with suspected transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs).

Clinical Neurophysiology RMH Service

Neurophysiology tests measure the electrical functions of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Testing is provided for a range of neurological conditions.

Rapid Access Iron Clinic RMH Service

We provide an assessment of latest pathology results no older than 3 months to arrange for the patient to have an iron infusion.

Subcutaneous Immunoglobulin Therapy RMH Service

We provide immunoglobulin replacement therapy to patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency, as well as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

Stroke Clinic RMH Service

We review people with stroke and cerebrovascular disease, including ischaemic stroke, intracerebral haemorrhage, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and vasculopathies including arterial dissection, Moya Moya disease and CADASIL.

Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Program

We offer opportunities for Grade 2 registered nurses who have completed a graduate mental health nurse program to undertake a formal supportive program while completing a postgraduate mental health nursing qualification.

We offer a broad range of mandatory and elective rotations for our Stage 2 and Stage 3 registrars (including SIMGs on the Partial Comparable pathway with RANZCP).

Stage 1 (first year) registrars

We recruit first-year registrars (RANZCP Stage 1 trainees) and support them to complete their training with us over the years to come.

Unaccredited and pre-vocational registrars

We recruit unaccredited and pre-vocational registrars who have an interest in joining the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) psychiatry training program in the future.
