Perioperative Care of Older Patients Undergoing Surgery RMH Service

We provide care for older patients at risk of poorer recovery from surgery due to frailty, multiple medical issues, cognitive and functional impairment.

ICU medical careers and education

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) ICU employs intensive care specialists, registrars and residents. We are accredited for training for neurological/neurosurgical, cardiothoracic and trauma ICU requirements.

Stage 2 and 3 registrars

After first year, we have the capacity to rotate registrars through a broad range of positions that meet the RANZCP Stage 2 training requirements in consultation-liaison, child and adolescent and old age psychiatry training.

Office for Research fees

The Office for Research oversees all aspects of research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), with the major component of work arising from the operation of the HREC and the governance of research projects undertaken at or by the RMH.
