Matthew Maiden is a senior specialist of intensive care medicine at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and an associate professor at the University of Melbourne Department of Critical Care.
He has Fellowships in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, and completed a PhD (University of Adelaide) studying thyroid hormone physiology in critical illness, and post-doctoral studies on pathophysiology of acute renal dysfunction.
Matt has an extensive track record overseeing clinical trials in critically ill patients, while also conducting laboratory-based studies, and projects examining health outcomes after critical illness. Matt has a burgeoning interest to ensure health care is person-centred, engages the community, equitable, coordinated, safe, and sustainable.
