Aged care residents at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Boyne Russell House are feeling relaxed and rejuvenated with the opening of a new hair salon space.

Tony and client in Boyne Russell hair salon

For more than 20 years, hairdresser Tony has been visiting the aged care facility, offering his exceptional hair services to residents.

However, the soaring demand for his expertise has led to a non-hair related transformation – an exclusive salon space at Boyne Russell House, crafted just for Tony.

Complete with a hair washing basin and comfy chairs, Tony and his clients couldn’t be happier.

Nurse Unit Manager of Boyne Russell House, Val Lamevski says it was great to have a new, designated space.

“It makes all the difference for our residents,” Val said. “When they look good, they feel good, which is what our team loves to see.”

Tony’s salon space provides a sense of calm in a familiar and comfortable environment for residents.

Thank you, Tony.
